Please note, there will be fires again this weekend! With the Innferno Fighting Championship 8, one of the most spectacular domestic MMA series enters the next round. Our PLUS subscribers (secure your offer here) will see all cage fights in the stream on krone.at on Sunday from 6 p.m.
The name says it all: “Innferno” spread like wildfire across national borders in the tough mixed martial arts scene. After several sold-out events in Austria, in the breathtaking Dogana Hall at the Congress Innsbruck, the seventh edition in the Olympiahalle in Munich was the next big hit for a packed house!
Fight card guarantees spectacle
For “Innferno 8” we will return to our Tyrolean homeland on Saturday, including an afterparty in the B1 of Innsbruck (ticket = admission). The ingredients for a fantastic fight gala for the 1,800 expected fans on site remain the same as always. “Well-known cage fighters will once again provide a superlative spectacle and really let it rip,” series boss Hannes Schneider is certain. Not only because top athletes from its MMA IBK Innsbruck, the largest martial arts center in western Austria, regularly participate. But because there are also many other national and international experts at work! Would you like a small selection?
With Jessin Ayari from Nuremberg, who attended the event’s premiere in 2015, an athlete from the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns for the main fight of the evening. ‘Abacus’, the nickname of the half-Tunisian welterweight, let his fists do the talking for four years in the Champions League of cage sport. In total, the 32-year-old has 16 wins compared to six defeats.
His opponent in the main draw is none other than Ayub Graziev from Salzburg, who is also internationally successful. He competed in the highest class “Brave” and is now fighting for his 13th victory in the 18th duel in the 3×5 round fight. Eight of his wins have come via knockout, so Ayari has been warned.
Local heroes and women’s premiere
In addition, two local heroes from Innsbruck, Laurin Pöschl and Hannes Auderer, will enter the Octagon. It is the third performance for both in the successful series, which is once again making a donation to underprivileged Tyrolean children in collaboration with the charity association VST Kitzbühel. Pöschl brings more than 15 years of experience with Tai Chi, Kung Fu and Qigong. As a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Auderer is well positioned for the Prelims.
Achmed Arsaev from Linz, Matthias Prehofer from Vienna and Efran Palta from Dornbirn also hit and kicked. Additionally, Monika Rychtarikova (Tch) and Giada Ghizzo clash in their first professional meeting in women’s fighting.
Best view through the cage bars
All this and more can be seen for all PLUS subscribers on Sunday from 6 p.m. in the stream here on krone.at! Don’t have a subscription yet? Then quickly secure one of our offers here and get excited about the red-hot cage fights of “Innferno 8”!
