25 drivers of 18 nationalities will compete in 12 races to win the first FIM female world champion in history, an all-female competition that will start at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli this weekend, within the Pirelli Round of Emilia- Superbike Romagna.
The most notable name on the grid is the only woman who managed to win a world title as a member of the SSP300 grid in 2018, the Murcian Ana Carrasco (Evan Bros. Racing Yamaha Team). He was already fastest in the only preseason test held in Cremona, but the Italian has a hot temper. Roberta Ponziani (Yamaha Motoxracing WCR Team), who used to race with Marco Bezzecchi on minibikes.

The championship will consist of six rounds starting in a month (June 14-16) in Emilia-Romagna (Misano) and will be completed by Donington Park (July 12-14), Portimao (August 9-11), Cremona (September 20) . -22), Estoril (October 11-13) and Jerez (October 18-20)
The race weekend of the Women’s World Motorcycle Championship will be the same as the previous categories of the World Superbike Championship, Supersport 600 and Supersport 300. A free practice session of 25 minutes will take place on Friday morning (from 9 am to 9:25). am ) and in the afternoon the Superpole will take place (1:25 pm – 1:50 pm), lasting 25 minutes, which will decide the starting grid for the weekend races, which will be two: one on Saturday and one on Sunday , both at (11:50 am).
It will be a one-make competition, all Yamaha YZF-R7 – the latest in the R series, with a high torque 689cc engine and compact chassis -, whose maintenance will be managed by a technical team led by Luca Montiron (JiR ) and the unit assigned to them in the Cremona test.
