The “Krone” Erzberg Adventure Days will again attract thousands of athletes to Styria on July 13, 14 and 20. This year there is a completely new competition with the “Weekend Warrior Challenge”.
“We love it dirty,” say the organizers of the “Krone” Erzberg Adventure Days and have had great success with this preference for years. The hobby and professional athletes who come to Eisenerz in Styria also love to fight their way through mud puddles and other obstacles to the finish on the legendary dirt runs. On the 13th/14th of July you can participate in three different distances (8, 16 and 24 km).
Sprint at a 97 percent incline
And with the already traditional AT&S Vertical Iron Sprint, the toughest vertical sprint in the world is scheduled for July 13: you have to master a 180-meter route with a gradient of 97 percent!
And this year, during the first weekend, there is a new challenge for the really hardcore people: the “Weekend Warrior Challenge”, in which three competitions must be completed over two days: 8 km dirt run and vertical iron sprint on Saturday and 24 km -Dirt run on Sunday.
July 20 is a bit ‘quieter’ – the day is dedicated to the Erzberg Run and Erzberg Walk: years ago, local mountain runners and Nordic walkers made these races (13 km and 650 meters altitude) the most popular mountain running event in Austria. By the way: This year, for the first time, there is a special shuttle service for participants and visitors who do not travel to Styria by car.
All information about the event can be found here. For owners of the Krone BonusCard, a 25 percent discount applies until July 14 (until June 14).
