Everything goes according to plan – Nova Rock: Olympic champion in aviation police

Date:

Day 3 at Nova Rock on the Pannonia Fields II in Nickelsdorf: A large contingent of emergency services ensures that the mega festival with more than 200,000 fans runs smoothly – right in the middle of it all there is a bird’s eye view of a ski jumping world champion.

“At times Nova Rock, the largest festival of its kind in Austria, was peaceful.” The police can also draw this positive conclusion on the third day of the mega event. There are 180 to 200 officers present every day, supported by the special Fox unit.

Traffic in focus
“Thanks to the excellent preparation, everything is relatively quiet in the streets around the site,” summarizes Lieutenant Colonel Rudolf Ehrenhöfer, deputy head of the state transport department.

Ski jumper at the aviation police
In the middle of Pannonia Fields II stands a very prominent athlete. Former ski jumper Andreas Kofler is on site for the aviation police.

With the help of a zeppelin, the multiple world champion and Olympic champion does what he does best: checking from a bird’s eye view whether everything is working perfectly: “The rock festival is running smoothly.” This could be operations manager Thomas Peck, police commander of the Neusiedl am See district, and deputy Lukas Liedl confirms.

Equipped for every eventuality
More than 550 folders ensure success. 120 paramedics, eight emergency physicians and twelve Red Cross employees are on call 24 hours a day. The fire brigade offers a guard service of up to 200 people.
