Deadly incident Sunday evening in Innsbruck: After a resident (46) parked his car on the side of a steep street, it started to roll. The man tried to stop the car through the open driver’s door, but without success.
The incident took place around 8 p.m. The 46-year-old Austrian was parking his car on the side of the road when it suddenly started moving for an unknown reason.
No chance to stop cars
“With the car door still open, the man tried to stop the car, but was unable to do so. The car carrying the man rolled over Planötzenhofstrasse and a parking lot, hit a parked vehicle and hit a carport, where the car eventually came to a stop,” police said.
The two cars and the carport were significantly damaged. The 46-year-old driver was slightly injured.
