A 63-year-old woman sat on a park bench on the shores of Lake Constance in Bregenz on Monday, with her handbag next to her. Suddenly, an unknown person grabbed the handbag and ran away with it.

The owner of the adjacent boat rental shop and two passersby give chase. They apprehended and arrested the suspect. The man lost his shoes and one of the passers-by was injured in the arm. Finally the thieves were able to free themselves and fled again – but this time without shoes on their feet.
A search turned up nothing, the police are now hoping for information from the public about the barefoot thief. He was about thirty years old, had his dark brown hair in a bun, wore blue pants, a beige T-shirt and a green jacket; he was probably an Eastern European.
