Bankruptcies are circling above Styria: the number of company bankruptcies rose by 29.1 percent in the first half of the year, and the number of personal bankruptcies also increased. It is the largest company bankruptcy in white-green economic history and causes record values in Styria – unfortunately in a negative sense: the bankruptcy of the electric car manufacturer Fisker. The obligations have therefore exploded by no less than 1,000 percent compared to 2023 (to approximately 1.5 billion euros), and the number of affected employees has increased by 47 percent compared to 2023 to 1,250 people.
