Spectacular accident early Monday evening in the Tyrolean lowlands: a motorist (28) ended up in the opposite lane in Langkampfen (Kufstein district) and collided head-on with the car of a 29-year-old local woman. The woman suffered injuries. According to police, the suspected perpetrator of the accident was probably physically disabled.
The accident happened shortly before 6 p.m. on the L212 in Oberlangkampfen. The 28-year-old resident drove his car into the oncoming lane. “Despite attempts to take evasive action by the oncoming 29-year-old driver, the car collided head-on,” police said.
Injured woman taken to hospital
The woman’s car went over the edge of the road and stopped in the meadow a few meters off the main road. The 29-year-old suffered injuries. After the first treatment, she was taken by ambulance to the Kufstein district hospital. The 28-year-old was unharmed.
The steering wheel is apparently damaged
There was significant damage to both cars. The alleged cause of the accident will be reported to the BH Kufstein “in connection with impairment caused by drugs or medications while driving the vehicle,” investigators continued.
The 28-year-old’s driver’s license was temporarily confiscated on the spot.
