Boy (13) as victim – charges against actor: trial date has been set

Date:

A successful child actor (13) was the victim of attempted abuse in Vienna. The accused mime artist from Carinthia is due to appear before a jury in Vienna on July 12. He faces a prison sentence of up to five years. The man hid the accusations against him from his role models. Until it finally leaked out.

He actually wanted to cast one of the leads in a summer production in July. But nothing comes of it. Instead of on stage, the actor from Carinthia takes a seat in the courtroom. As the “Krone” has learned, the date of the trial has now been set: the trial will take place in the Vienna Regional Court on July 12 before a jury presided over by Judge Stefan Huber.

Penalty of up to five years in prison
The previously impeccable mime has been ordered to answer charges of attempted sexual abuse of minors and could face up to five years in prison if he tries to create images of child abuse.

The Carinthian, who has been on stage mainly in Vienna and Lower Austria for several years, is said to have made contact with members of the local children’s choir as an extra in a production in a large Viennese theater. He wrote a letter to three choir boys via Instagram and, according to the Public Prosecution Service, wanted to gain their trust: two of them broke off contact.

The suspect persistently and manipulatively attempted to convince a 13-year-old, highly successful child actor – as documented in page-long chats – to initiate a video call with him and masturbate with him on camera. “With the intention of recording this act or at least securing it with screenshots,” the StA said in the complaint. Because the boy refused, the suspect repeatedly described him as “cowardly.”

It has now become known from judicial circles that lawyer Philipp Wolm (www.kw-anwaelte.com) has taken over the representation of the young victim. The boy, who fortunately confided in his mother, will testify as a witness in the trial behind closed doors.

According to the Public Prosecution Service, the man admitted the facts in his previous interrogations. His alcohol problem is the cause of the incident, which now scares him.

Suspect has lost his summer engagement
But he was not shocked enough to inform his employers of the charges. Although the investigation was already public, he continued to act in plays together with well-known personalities. His summer engagement only ended up going through because the director got a hint after the charges were filed. “He didn’t show anything at all,” she says. At the last minute, a new cast was found for the role that would have been played by the actor suspected of abuse.
