An accident in the Amraser tunnel near Innsbruck caused disruption on the A12 Inntal motorway late on Tuesday afternoon. A car and a concrete mixer collided with the three-lane tube, two lanes had to be closed. The driver suffered injuries.
According to police, the accident happened shortly after 4 p.m. A 55-year-old local woman was driving her car on the A12 towards Arlberg when, for unknown reasons, she collided with a concrete mixer driven by a Romanian (33) in the Amras tunnel.
Truck pushed car 90 meters
“The collision caused the car to turn 90 degrees. The truck then pushed the car about 300 feet away. Both vehicles involved in the accident eventually came to a stop in the area of the first two lanes,” the highway police said.
The 55-year-old driver was slightly injured. After the first treatment, she was taken by ambulance to the clinic in Innsbruck.
Lanes closed, backlog
During the operation, the affected lanes had to be closed for approximately 45 minutes. “So there was a backlog up to Hall,” the researchers concluded.
