A 55-year-old was sentenced to partial imprisonment by the Feldkirch Regional Court after suffering a panic attack at the Institute for Social Services (ifs) in Vorarlberg.
The suspect was led in handcuffs to room 123 of the Feldkirch Regional Court on Wednesday. However, the 55-year-old, who has been in custody since the crime on April 29, did not make a “dangerous impression”. The man is seriously depressed, has to take psychotropic medication every day and has not been able to work for six years due to his illness. The innocent person must answer in court for dangerous threats.
Suspect admits guilt
The root of all evil lies in the fact that he lives separately from his wife and has no contact with his children. Because the Youth Care Office is involved. On that day in April, the defendant has an appointment at the ifs in Dornbirn. Because the conversation does not go as hoped, the 55-year-old panics: “I am going to kill the person responsible for child and youth care in Dornbirn and Bregenz. If I find her, I will go to her house and cut off her head!” He threatens the two employees on site. The man is then reported.
“My client was in very bad shape at that time. “He had taken twelve tablets of psychotropic medication,” attorney Lisa Maria Ramsauer-Mitteregger said during the meeting. Meanwhile, the suspect claims he didn’t know what he was doing. Nevertheless, he pleads guilty and admits his wrongdoing.
However, the defense’s desire to distract is not fulfilled. Judge Theo Rümmele finds the man guilty of the charges and sentences him to seven months in prison, five of which are conditional. Because the mentally ill man has already been in pre-trial detention for seven weeks, he can be released from prison in a week. The judgment is final.
