A day after Mayor Ludwig’s visit to Sultan Erdoğan, there was a large-scale operation at a Turkish wedding in Vienna. Shots had been fired.
Other countries other ways. This became apparent on Saturday morning at the wedding of a Turkish couple in the middle of Floridsdorf. Because to properly celebrate the newlyweds, a guest suddenly pulled out a gun – and fired wildly into the air up to seven times.
Of course, this sound startled residents who feared a gunfight or, worse, a terrorist warning. A large police force cordoned off the area around the town hall on Leopoldauer Strasse and in Kendegasse.
Just a blank gun, but still a hefty bill
Fortunately, it soon became apparent that no live weapon had been used during the wedding shooting, only a deceptively real-looking pistol.
After officials captured the details of the trigger-happy wedding guest, the situation calmed down. However, those involved in the loud wedding jubilation should probably expect a hefty “police bill” for the associated fuss.
