Dangerous incident in the early morning hours on Friday on the Inntal highway in the Tyrolean lowlands: the trailer of a timber transport truck overturned due to a blown tire. Then several tree trunks fell onto the road. The A12 had to be completely closed for a short time, but fortunately no one was injured.
The accident happened around 5 a.m. on the A12 near Wiesing (Schwaz district). A 65-year-old resident was driving a timber truck towards Kufstein when he said he suddenly heard a loud bang. A tire had blown off the trailer!
Trailer tipped over after 380 meters
“The tractor-trailer then started to sway. “He came from the normal lane to the fast lane and then hit the concrete center barrier,” said a police spokeswoman when asked by ‘Krone’. The 65-year-old driver steered the van towards the emergency lane – after approximately 380 meters the trailer overturned and the heavy vehicle came to a stop.
The transporter lost a number of tree trunks while driving, which then ended up scattered on the road. Good luck in the accident: no one was injured!
