Primary school student Lisa and her two friends of the same age had just had fun for a short time in the wave pool at the Traiskirchen outdoor swimming pool (Lower Austria). The trio was playing in the whirlpool in the cool water. As a girl was leaving the pool, Lisa suddenly felt hands on her small body. They touched everything that God forbade a child to touch.
‘It has affected both of us.’
The stranger underwater was not holding her, the 9-year-old said. But she couldn’t leave either: ‘The vortex kept pulling me in.’ “At one point the man spread his arms and reached for both of us. And at the bottom.”
After several attempts, the girls managed to escape from the water and warn their mothers. After that everything happened very quickly. The women informed the lifeguard, the police arrived and arrested two Chechens, asylum seekers aged 29 and 30.
They allegedly abused six children (five girls and one boy) in the swimming pool that day. It is still unclear whether there are any more victims.
