Date:

Italy is consistently taking action against Russian oligarchs and friends of Putin. Authorities recently seized the luxury villa of Russian TV presenter Vladimir Soloviev, one of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s best-known propagandists, on Lake Como worth eight million euros. “My villa was taken from me without trial,” protested the TV host.

“Now I have to earn more money,” added the presenter of the show “Dritto e Rovescio” on Thursday evening, broadcast by the Rete 4 channel. Soloviev also resolutely defended Moscow’s line in the war in Ukraine. He spoke of a conflict provoked by Kiev. He accused the Ukrainian armed forces of using civilians as “human shields”.

Several villas and yachts seized from oligarchs
Italy wants to take full action against Russian oligarchs, Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio said in an interview with Bild newspaper (Friday edition). His country “strictly adheres to our international obligations with regard to sanctions and therefore also with regard to the confiscation of property of designated persons in Italy”. In recent weeks, several villas and yachts have been seized by oligarchs.

Police also seized a real estate complex in Pevero Gulf, Sardinia, worth about 17 million euros, as well as six commercial vehicles, other properties and cars with an estimated value of 66 million euros, all owned by Usmanov. Other luxury properties on the Costa Smeralda were frozen.

It concerns a real estate complex in Punta Sardegna, owned by the oligarch Petr Olegovich Aven and worth about four million euros, and real estate in Portisco, in the municipality of Olbia, owned by the oligarch Alexey Mordashov. The value of the latter is estimated at around 105 million euros.
