On Thursday evening, hikers found a motionless woman in a stream bed near Feldbach (district of South-East Styria). They dragged her out of the water and tried to resuscitate her, but the emergency doctor who was called could only determine that the 86-year-old was dead a short time later. She probably fell into the stream while doing gardening.
On Thursday evening shortly after 8 p.m., a couple was walking their dog when they made a terrible discovery: a motionless woman was lying in the Schützingbach stream next to the municipal road in Raabau in Feldbach!
The woman lay with her head in the water
They immediately rushed to her. They went down to the creek bed and discovered that the person was lying with his head in the water. Passing hikers helped the couple pull them out of the water. Together they administered first aid and alerted the rescue services.
Fell while working in the garden
When the emergency doctor arrived with the rescue helicopter Christophorus 12, he could only determine that the 86-year-old was dead. She must have fallen into the stream in the afternoon while she was defoliating a vineyard on the edge of the dike, and had an accident. There are no indications of foul play: the relatives are being cared for by a crisis intervention team.
