A serious accident took place in Upper Austria on Thursday evening: a 16-year-old was cycling on the Michaelnbach-Stauff national road towards Waizenkirchen when he was overlooked and hit by a 15-year-old in a moped. The cyclist suffered serious injuries.
Around 5:30 p.m., the 16-year-old from Waizenkirchen cycled towards his hometown. At the same time, a 15-year-old from Weibern was driving his moped in the opposite direction.
Cyclists overlooked
While turning left, the younger man must have missed the cyclist and hit him. The 16-year-old hit the windshield and then came to a stop on the road.
He was seriously injured and was taken to hospital by ambulance after first aid. The driver of the moped and his passenger survived the collision unharmed.
