A suspected traffic hooligan chased police on the Brenner and Inntal highways in Tyrol on Friday evening. Because the 33-year-old driver apparently did not want to be checked, he accelerated and drove away. For Hall, the movie-like breakout finally ended — with several rollovers.
At around 8.15pm, the 33-year-old motorist was attacked by police on the Brenner motorway A13 – in the area of the Schönberg Gallery – for various administrative offences, it was said.
Pressed the gas when stopping
The patrol gave chase and wanted to stop the local population near Innsbruck-Ost. The driver got in line behind the police car in the exit braking lane and slowed down. “At the last minute, the man returned to the first lane of the A12 and tried to escape,” investigators say.
But it ultimately had a fatal outcome: at the Hall-West exit, the driver lost control of his car due to “much too high speed”. The car then went off the edge of the road and overturned several times before coming to rest in bushes.
With the rescue to the clinic
The 33-year-old suffered injuries. He was taken by ambulance to the clinic in Innsbruck. Follow associated ads.
