A 42-year-old athlete was injured in a hiking accident in the Oberzillertal on Sunday, accompanied by her children. Because the helicopter was initially unable to take off due to weather conditions, the mountain rescue team was called.

The local woman descended from the Friesenberghaus (2,498 meters) to the Schlegeis reservoir in the municipality of Finkenberg on Sunday morning together with her two children and a friend. They had only been traveling for 15 minutes when the 42-year-old slipped on a wet rock and fell. She injured her pelvic area.

Salvage initially terrestrial
The fog initially prevented the helicopter from taking off. Therefore, a team from the Ginzling mountain rescue service went on foot to the injured woman. The emergency services took them on foot to the Friesenbergalm.

After the weather finally improved, a rescue helicopter was able to save the woman and fly her to the hospital in Schwaz.
