The Carinthian police officers are currently investigating an incident that allegedly occurred a few days ago during the Rainbow Parade in Spittal (Carinthia).
For the fourth time, supporters of the LGBTQI community marched through Spittal to protest for equal rights and tolerance in June. As the police have now confirmed, an incident of a National Socialist nature occurred: “A report has been filed, the investigation is now underway,” says the Carinthian State Police Directorate.
Hitler salute and weapons presented
The accusation: a group of young boys allegedly gave the Nazi salute at the parade at the city park, pointed with their hands at weapons and shouted National Socialist slogans. “We received many positive reactions, but were also confronted with horrible incitements and Nazi salutes,” one participant wrote on social media. It feels like a journey back in time: “Something like that shouldn’t be possible!” “Let’s fight against hatred and agitation,” said another user.
Rainbow crosswalk hidden
Something similar happened a few days ago in Klagenfurt, when unknown people with Bangladeshi torches covered a rainbow crosswalk with Carinthian flags and distributed pamphlets with racist content.
