Investigations are underway – espionage attack on lawyer from Styria

Date:

Styrian player lawyer Julia Eckhart was pursued by investigators for months. They even attached a tracking device to their car! The Public Prosecution Service is now investigating.

Styrian lawyer Julia Eckhart has made a name for herself as a ‘player’s lawyer’. She fights for her gambling addicted customers to get back the large sums of money that they had previously simply put into the ATMs and lost. Even large, well-known companies have already had to kneel before her in court.

The detective was caught editing
Now she herself has become the victim of a nasty intrigue. However, she only found out she was being tracked and spied on for months when a detective was caught trying to install a tracking device on her car.

That happened on January 11 of this year. The lawyer had – as he often does – traveled to Vienna to represent a client against a major gambling company and stayed overnight in a hotel. While she was relaxing in the room, a man dressed in dark clothing started messing with her car. A hotel security guard caught him. The excuse of the man caught: the car belongs to a friend and he has to inspect the damage. The employee seemed to speak Spanish. When the surveillance camera was viewed, it became clear that the man had placed something under the car. As security feared it could be a bomb, he alerted the police. This then discovered the tracking device.

Detective protects client
Eckhart was informed at the reception the next day about what had happened. “I was of course completely perplexed,” she tells “Krone”. The next day, the detective, who had discovered his license plate on film, told another adventurous story to the police: his key had fallen under the car and he just wanted to get it out.

Suspect confessed
A week later he finally admitted: “Yes, I installed a GPS tracker on the car!” The goal was to identify Eckhart because she was possibly connected to a crime.

Detective protects client
It is clear that this version is not entirely true either. During the police investigation, it turned out that she had been followed, filmed and photographed since early summer 2023. However, the detective and his assistant from another detective agency do not identify their clients. The Vienna Public Prosecutor’s Office is currently investigating the violation of the Data Protection Act “data processing with the intention to cause or cause damage”. How is the lawyer doing now? “At first I was in shock. This is over now, I will take action against those responsible until the end!”
