Major property damage – teenagers sprayed buildings out of boredom

Date:

It was “bland” to them. This is how a 14-year-old and a 15-year-old from the Salzburg region justified their spraying actions in Bad Ischl and St. Gilgen. The graffiti caused major material damage and the duo was reported to the Public Prosecution Service.

On the night of May 1, two teenagers left behind a trail of destruction in the Salzkammergut. ATMs, traffic signs, house facades and the Schafbergbahn area were “decorated” with graffiti.

But police officers from Bad Ischl discovered that the duo – the 14-year-old boy and the 15-year-old girl from the Salzburg district – had been reported to the public prosecutor’s office.

Boredom as a motive
When questioned, most of them confessed and said boredom was the motive for the crime. The resulting damage is in the four-figure eurozone.
