Musk vs. Zuckerberg – Billionaires’ cage fight is on the rise in Italy

Date:

Tech billionaire Elon Musk wants his cage fight against Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg to take place against a historic backdrop in Italy. Musk wrote on his online platform Twitter (X) on Friday that he had spoken with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Culture Minister Gennaro Sangiuliano and that they had promised an “epic location” for the battle.

Sangiuliano was a bit more reserved back then. He and Musk had a “long and friendly talk.” “We are thinking about how to host a major charity event and a historic event while respecting and fully protecting the sites,” he shared. “It will not take place in Rome,” he clarified at the same time. It is also planned to donate a large amount, many millions of euros, to two important Italian children’s hospitals. On Friday from Meloni’s official residence in Rome, there was initially no response to Musk’s announcement.

Musk wrote that only ancient structures from Roman times should be visible in the image of the battle and nothing modern. He had sometimes brought up the Roman Colosseum as the location for the fight, but this has been denied in recent weeks.

The battle will be broadcast live
The prospect of battle first surfaced in June. Musk challenged Zuckerberg, who agreed. After the initial publicity, radio silence followed, leaving many doubting whether the tech billionaires would get in the ring together. Recently, Musk has repeatedly emphasized that he wants to fight. Now he wrote that the fight should be broadcast live on X and the services of the Facebook group Meta.

Musk also indicated that it could be some time before the two tech billionaires meet. He needs surgery because his right shoulder blade is rubbing against his ribs. “The recovery will only take a few months,” he wrote on Twitter on Friday.
