A 32-year-old man crashed into a house wall in Vienna-Penzing at high speed on Saturday evening. The driver would have just missed a 13-year-old pedestrian who was able to jump aside just in time. Witnesses immediately alerted the police.
The incident happened at 7:15 PM on the bend to Linzer Strasse. According to police, the driver lost control of the car and slammed into the wall of an apartment building with full force. The 32-year-old then quickly gathered his things and tried to flee. Meanwhile, his previously unknown passenger had also fled.
Driver yelled at police
After arriving, the police managed to grab and hold the 32-year-old driver in time. He then yelled at the officers and was extremely aggressive. The driver was arrested shortly afterwards.
Under the influence of drugs and alcohol
As if that were not enough, during the interrogation the officers also determined that the driver did not have a driver’s license and was under the influence of drugs and alcohol. Marijuana and speed were also seized.
