Crashed without a helmet – cyclist (71) bangs his head against the meadow grid

Deadly leisure accident on Saturday afternoon in the Ausserfern in Tyrol: a 71-year-old mountain biker fell under the Ehrwalder Alm and hit a meadow fence with his head full force. The German was not wearing a helmet.

At around 3.30 pm, the German rode his mountain bike on an unpaved hiking trail in Ehrwald. About 200 meters below the Ehrwalder Alm, he fell near a pasture fence, where he may have bumped his head against the fence. Police said the man was not wearing a helmet and suffered serious head injuries.

Take the emergency helicopter to the hospital
Two hikers who happened to pass by immediately alerted rescuers. The rescue helicopter took the seriously injured to the hospital in Murnau, Bavaria.
