Lawsuit filed – Volkswagen executive angry over Porsche ban

Date:

Since this year, top managers at Volkswagen have had to do without Porsche models as company cars. This innovation affects 200 senior employees. In the meantime, lawsuits have already been submitted to the labor court.

Since the beginning of this year, it has no longer been possible to order a Porsche as a company car, a Volkswagen spokesman said on Sunday in response to a corresponding newspaper article by ‘Bild’. Since then, this is how the scheme has been handled. The background is money: “It is actually a cost saving.” According to information from dpa, around 200 senior employees are affected.

Rare privilege
According to ‘Bild’, the privilege of owning a Porsche sports car as a company car is only available to Porsche managers and company boards. However, according to the report, lawsuits are already underway at the Braunschweig labor court against Porsche’s ‘ban’.

Efficiency and savings program
The Volkswagen Group, which in addition to Porsche includes many other car brands such as VW, Skoda and Seat, recently launched an efficiency and savings program. According to previous information, it should deliver a profit improvement of four billion euros this year, then seven billion euros in 2025 and ten billion euros per year from 2026. However, the spokesperson did not want to say how much the Porsche ban would save.
