Spectacular incident in Rietz in the Tyrolean district of Imst! Two offering box thieves were caught red-handed by a parish worker. The perpetrators managed to escape in the car. In doing so, they dragged a community worker ten meters further.
The incident happened around 12:45 on Tuesday. In the parish in Rietz, an employee saw two initially unknown perpetrators trying to fish money from a victim’s chest. “The employee left the church unnoticed and called the police,” investigators say.
Blocked exit breached
The officers and municipal workers tried to block the exit. However, the perpetrators managed to escape in their car. “They dragged a community worker about ten meters before he fell.” Fortunately, the man was only slightly injured.
After investigation by the Silz office, the Tyrolean State Criminal Investigation Department and the German police, two Romanians (19 and 38) were identified as suspects. Their whereabouts are unknown. The men were wanted.
