After his visit to Kiev on Tuesday, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán plans to travel to Moscow tomorrow, Friday, to meet President Vladimir Putin, according to media reports.
This was reported by the American broadcaster Radio Free Europe and the Hungarian investigative journalist Szabolcs Panyi on Thursday based on informed sources.
The visit has not yet been officially confirmed. Hungary took over the rotating presidency of the EU Council only a few days ago.
Orbán visited Ukraine for the first time earlier
According to information from Panyi, Orbán will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó. Orbán visited the Ukrainian capital Kiev on Tuesday and met with President Volodymyr Zelensky.
It was his first visit to Ukraine since the Russian attack in February 2022. The Hungarian leader is seen as having close ties to Russia. In Kiev, he called for a quick ceasefire.
