Police stopped a speeder on the Südautobahn (A2) in Styria on New Year’s Day. The man was driving at a speed of 200 km/h and was in an intoxicated condition. Now his driver’s license is gone.
On New Year’s Day around noon, a patrol from the state traffic service noticed a car driving at significantly too high speed on the southern highway near Lieboch (towards Vienna).
Terminal Kaiserwald
The plainclothes officers immediately gave chase to the Porsche 911. The 38-year-old driver from the Deutschlandsberg district was measured at a speed of 200 km/h. He was then arrested at the Kaiserwald rest area.
The man was also drunk
During the subsequent inspection, the 38-year-old confessed and stated that he had taken a “test drive” – the vehicle was not registered in his name. An alcohol test also showed that he was slightly drunk. The Styrian driver’s license was temporarily confiscated.
