Offended police – drunk man arrested after Nazi salute in Vienna

Date:

On Saturday morning, two drunk passengers had a loud argument with a taxi driver in Vienna’s second district. Passers-by alerted the police. When they arrived, one of the passengers raised his right hand in a Hitler salute and shouted “Sieg Heil”.

Police arrested the 31-year-old, who denied the charges. The man and his 30-year-old companion had previously behaved aggressively and insulted officers. The two passengers had been notified of complaints about decorum violation and noise.

They then walked away, after which the 31-year-old Austrian raised his right hand in the Hitler salute and shouted ‘Sieg Heil’. The reason for the police intervention was a loud drunken brawl with a taxi driver on Engerthstrasse in Vienna.
