The Basque government will this Tuesday economic guidelines on which the preparation of their budgets for next year will be based.
This document will be presented by the Minister of Finance and Finance, Noël d’Anjou, after the weekly meeting of the Government Council (12:00 o’clock), as stated in the call of the Basque executive.
Economic guidelines serve as reference for budgeting of the various government administrations. These guidelines, which are normally drawn up in June, include both economic growth forecasts and calculations of employment trends. It is predictable that the budget project will be ready in October, once the collection of the Basque estates and the distribution between the institutions after the Basque Council of Finance is known.
The Lehendakari himself has already announced that he wants a budget for 2025 “something higher” in order to “meet the needs of society”, although he has also been “cautious” in light of the evolution of the economy.
The current accounts for 2024, designed by the previous Ministry of Economy and Finance of Pedro Azpiazu, are estimated at 15,025 million euros.
