Two children injured – 24-year-old dies in head-on collision in Weinviertel

A tragic accident in Ulrichskirchen-Schleinbach in the Mistelbach district of Lower Austria this weekend claimed one life and injured five people, including a four-year-old child and an eleven-month-old baby.

Two cars collided head-on on the B7. All help came too late for a 24-year-old driver from the Korneuburg district. The young man died on the spot from his injuries. His 23-year-old partner and their two children, aged four years and 11 months, were flown by emergency helicopter to hospitals in Vienna with some serious injuries.

Emergency doctor on duty
The 46-year-old driver of the other car involved in the crash and his 37-year-old passenger also received emergency medical care and were subsequently taken to hospital. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Thrown into a ditch
The force of the collision sent both vehicles into the ditch. Three emergency medical helicopters and numerous rescue workers were present.
