From Friday we can expect plenty of sun and temperatures above 30 degrees. On Sunday, the whole of Austria should even reach 35 degrees. Especially for older people, the extreme heat can become a problem.
Just in time for the Corpus Christi holiday, severe thunderstorms can still dominate in the east of the country. It will most likely remain dry on Lake Constance and in the Weinviertel. Despite thunderstorms, temperatures remain warm between 24 and 30 degrees.
Sunday up to 35 degrees
On the window day, the situation calms down again and there remains a mix of sun and clouds with up to 30 degrees. On the weekend, the North African heat will rule the entire country. Highs of up to 35 degrees are expected, especially on Sunday. The enormous heat prevails from Vorarlberg via North Tyrol and the Flachgau to the northern foothills of the Alps. In isolated cases, heat thunderstorms are also possible.
Experts remind you to drink plenty of water throughout the day.
A cold front could cross Austria as early as Monday, making temperatures cooler.
