Fire brigade operation Tuesday evening at Hauser Kaibling in Upper Styria: an SUV started burning while driving. The driver (66) was able to get to safety in time.
At around 7:30 p.m., the 66-year-old driver of Hauser Kaibling was driving towards Kaibling Alm. While driving on a dirt road, the Styrian noticed smoke coming from his car. The 66-year-old stopped, got to safety and called the emergency services.
SUV overturned
Shortly after, the green SUV was completely engulfed in flames. It rolled downhill for a few more meters and then overturned on a slope facing uphill. Due to the long journey from the FF Haus and Oberhaus to the location, the vehicle was completely burned out upon arrival.
In order to protect the adjacent forest, firefighting work was also carried out on the adjacent dike and the forest was made wet with water. The driver was unharmed. The cause of the fire was probably a technical problem.
