St. Stephen’s Cathedral in sight – hours before deportation: IS fanatic dead in cell

Date:

A big bang about an IS terrorist cell, which is also said to have planned an attack on St. Stephen’s Cathedral on Christmas Eve: a 40-year-old suspect from Dagestan committed suicide in the Vienna police detention center, just a few hours before his planned deportation by plane to Russia!

The native of Dagestan was considered a member of the notorious IS branch Islamic State Khorasan (ISPK). The terrorist gang is currently considered the most dangerous by the global secret services. As evidenced by the attack on a concert hall near Moscow in which more than 140 people were killed.

The 40-year-old is said to have planned attacks on Cologne Cathedral and St. Stephen’s Cathedral on Christmas Eve with a couple and a German-Tajik. During the investigations of the Directorate of State Security and Intelligence (DSN), the handcuffs clicked shortly before Christmas in Vienna and Germany.

“Accept neither the rule of law nor laws”
Then came the surprise at the end of May: all four suspects were released by the judiciary for lack of compelling suspicion – excavations for a weapons cache in a forest and a ravine in Lower Austria had been in vain. In consultation with the Federal Asylum Office, the four men and one woman were transferred to the police detention center for deportation after their pre-trial detention. In a 43-page decision, the suspects were “classified as very dangerous people who accept neither the rule of law nor the laws.”

The terror mastermind was to be flown from Dagestan to Russia on Thursday. Now the big bang: a few hours before his deportation at around 6:00 a.m., the presumably 40-year-old IS fanatic was found dead in his cell on the Hernalser Belt.

IS fanatic takes secrets to his grave
He had hanged himself with a tea towel and his shoelaces, and thus takes the secrets of the terrorist cell to the grave.
