Britain’s new Prime Minister Keir Starmer has pledged long-term military aid to Ukraine worth £3 billion (€3.56 billion) a year “until 2030/31 and for as long as necessary.”
The British also want to deliver a new package of artillery and another 90 Brimstone missiles, originally developed for anti-tank aircraft, in the coming weeks. In Ukraine, they appear to be deployed from the ground.
The Ukrainian trenches form the front line of defense in the Euro-Atlantic region.
Starmer: “Values violated”
“NATO was founded by the generation that defeated fascism. They understood not only the value of our strength, but also the value of our values,” said election winner Starmer. These values are now under attack again.
Russian President Vladimir Putin needs to hear a clear message from the summit: “a message of unity and determination that we will support Ukraine with whatever it takes, as long as it takes to protect our common values and our common security.”
At the summit in Washington, NATO also decided to provide military aid worth 40 billion euros to Ukraine (see video above).
