You just got your driver’s license and it’s gone again. But that’s not all: a young Tyrolean had to give up his beloved motorcycle on Thursday after he was driving 100 km/h too fast and was flashed by the police.
But someone was in a special hurry! On Thursday afternoon, shortly before 3:30 p.m., the 22-year-old was riding his motorcycle along the Silvretta Hochalpenstraße towards Bielerhöhe.
No more 160 km/h in the 60s zone
In the municipality of Galtür, the motorcyclist then drove against a police speed check. The young man raced through a 60 speed zone at a speed of 160 km/h. The speedster was immediately taken out of traffic.
Trial license and vehicle missing
“The driver’s license of the probationary license holder was confiscated on the spot,” the police reported. Due to the enormous speeding violation, the motorcycle was also confiscated.
With the change in traffic regulations, since March 1, the vehicle can be confiscated and then even auctioned if the speed limit in local areas exceeds 80 km / h and outside the city 90 km / h. If you have a relevant criminal record, the speeds can increase to 60 or 70 km / h.
