The ‘tuning scene’ was targeted by police in the Innsbruck region on Thursday during a large-scale operation: The results are sobering: in addition to driver’s licenses and license plates, the emergency services registered more than 200 reports. An ‘old acquaintance’ fell into the director’s clutches again.
Between 2:00 and 11:00 p.m., the police, together with the Tyrolean State Vehicle Inspection Center, carried out “Operation Sharp” in the Innsbruck area. The focus was on the topic of vehicle tuning.
21 vehicles had to go to the test center
More than a dozen patrols from the city police command Innsbruck, the district police command Innsbruck-Land and the state traffic service were present. A total of 21 vehicles were presented to the inspection center and their technical condition was checked.
“Ten vehicles were found to have such serious defects that their registration had to be revoked and their license plates removed,” researchers said.
Mood, pace, alcohol, drugs
Overall, there was a veritable flood of advertisements. There were 218 reports of violations of the Motor Vehicle Act. There were another 18 reports of violations of traffic regulations and six for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs or refusing to be examined.
In addition, there were five cases in which driving licenses were revoked for driving under the influence or speeding. In addition, a total of 58 directorships were awarded.
“Old acquaintance” came under control
During the focus check, the emergency services also encountered an ‘old acquaintance’. A 22-year-old Hungarian man who chased the police last Saturday was checked again. The suspect, who did not have a driver’s license, was on drugs at the time. On Thursday, he refused to be taken to the doctor.
