Not legally binding – Graz House Invasion: Life imprisonment for the accused!

Date:

After the third day of the trial over the brutal burglary near Graz, the verdict was handed down Monday evening: life imprisonment for both accused Styria (verdict not final). The victim had been questioned before: a very combative grandmother who impressed everyone in the audience.

“She talks about it every day,” says the three-year-old girl’s mother. She also describes how scared her daughter was. Unbelievable what the child had to go through. As he watched, the grandmother was hit in the back and sides with a baseball bat. She was stabbed in the back with a knife until the handle broke. The perpetrator got a second knife from the kitchen, which got stuck in the back of the woman. “She often wakes up at night and hides in the box.”

Mother thought her child was dead
Contrary to the initial information, the granddaughter was injured in the attack: she had a black eye and a swollen face. When the Steiermarker got the terrible phone call last November, she first thought her child was dead. ‘I almost didn’t understand my mother. Her voice was very low and she kept asking me to come home. “Brutal assault,” she told me. “There’s so much blood. I think I’m going to die.’”

When the 36-year-old comes home, emergency vehicles and a helicopter are everywhere. The daughter looked okay, the mother was taken to the helicopter, the daughter tells through tears. “‘They know you, they knew where everything is,’ said Mama.” And indeed: one of the suspected perpetrators is the financially weak uncle of the three-year-old. Jewelery, money and a safe were stolen.

scars all over the body
The victim himself does not know the former brother-in-law. “But I can still hear the gasping when he stabbed me with the knife,” says the grandmother, incredibly composed. “There was a bang and a bang, and then the blood ran out of my head.” Three of her ribs were broken and scars all over her torso testify to the martyrdom.

“I was there for 77 murder stories, but that’s really difficult,” Judge Helmut Wlasak told the suspect. “An attack on a lying, bound, defenseless victim!”

Knife-cutter denies to the end
Despite clear traces – here the judge praised the work of the investigators – the knife man denies. His accomplice also confesses only the less violent things. The non-final verdict was handed down late Monday night: life imprisonment for both Styria!
