66 km/h too fast is a huge overshoot! The pace was measured in Klagenfurt.
The perceived safety on the road, an inner feeling for a brisk pace, wandering thoughts that do not take the speed sign into account, the conscious will to accelerate: there are many reasons why drivers drive too fast. But 66 km/h too fast is a huge excess.
Friday evening at 20:39 the police measured the speed with a laser on the Feldkirchner Strasse in Klagenfurt. A 32-year-old driver from the neighbourhood probably regrets his speed: he drove with 116 speeds in the 50 km/h zone, which is outside the municipality!
His driver’s license was temporarily suspended. An advertisement follows.
Exceeding the maximum permitted speed by more than 50 km/h outside the municipality can result in a fine of 300 to 5,000 euros. The driving license is gone for four weeks. Within the area, exceeding 40 km/h is sufficient for these penalties.
