Assassination Attempt Confirmed – Donald Trump Narrowly Survives Assassination Attempt

Date:

Donald Trump was nearly assassinated at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. The US Federal Police (FBI) officially classifies the incident as an ‘attempted assassination’ of the ex-president. The shooter is said to be a 20-year-old from the region; the US is in complete shock.

FBI agent Kevin Rojek announced this on Saturday (local time) at a press conference in Butler, the location of the meeting. There is “no reason” to fear that there is still danger. Trump said he was injured in his ear as a result of the shots.

A projectile killed a bystander
According to authorities, in addition to the suspected shooter, a bystander was killed and two others were seriously wounded. As Rojek explained, the FBI now has leads on the shooter’s identity.

“At this point, we are unable to identify the shooter, we are close to identifying him,” the special agent for the US Federal Police said. The FBI is now working “feverishly” to confirm.

As police announced at a news conference early Sunday, the suspected shooter is male. She did not provide any information about her age. The dead suspect has not yet been identified. According to CNN, the suspected shooter is a 20-year-old from Pennsylvania. The three protesters who were shot were adult males, George Bivens, deputy chief of operations for the Pennsylvania State Police, said at the news conference. One of the victims died and two were seriously injured.

Shot from an “elevated position”.
According to the Secret Service, the shooter fired the shots “from an elevated position” outside the rally area. Secret Service agents then pulled Trump to the ground for his own safety and eventually pulled him to safety.

The Butler rally was Trump’s final campaign event before the Republican convention that begins Monday, where Trump is expected to be officially named the party’s presidential candidate. The U.S. presidential election will be held on November 5. The assassination attempt in Pennsylvania sparked outrage in the United States and internationally.

Biden shocked
“There is no place for this kind of violence in America,” Biden said in Washington on Saturday (local time). “We must come together as a nation to condemn this.”

Biden went on to say of Trump that he was “grateful to hear he is safe and doing well.” “I am praying for him and his family and everyone who was at the meeting as we wait for more information.”
