Fire alarm on Sunday evening in Tyrol’s Landeck! A fire broke out in the boiler room of a house. A 62-year-old was injured when he tried to extinguish the flames. A dog may have prevented a tragedy.
At around 11pm, the 62-year-old emptied a bucket of cigarettes and ash into a container in the boiler room of a house in Landeck. “A short time later, a fire broke out there and spread to a pile of wood,” police said.
The fire brigade had to divert
The man became aware of the fire when a dog barked. He warned his housemates and tried to put out the fire with a fire extinguisher. However, he was unsuccessful. The fire was eventually put out by the Landeck fire brigade.
Significant material damage
“The 62-year-old was taken to Zams Hospital with suspected smoke inhalation,” the director explains. Considerable material damage occurred in the boiler room.
