A 17-year-old driver caused a serious traffic accident in Linz on Saturday evening. The young woman ignored a red light and collided with a bus, which then crashed into another car. Four people, including two children, were injured in the accident.
Saturday at 21:20, a serious traffic accident occurred at the intersection of Dinghoferstrasse/Blumauerstrasse. According to a witness statement, a 17-year-old driver from Linz drove into the city on Blumauerstrasse and ignored the red light at the intersection. At the same time, a Linz Linien bus drove on Dinghoferstrasse towards the city center and a collision occurred at the intersection.
People on the bus were unharmed
The 60-year-old bus driver from Leonding tried to swerve to the left and collided with a car driving on his left. This was driven by a 46-year-old from Niederwaldkirchen, who also wanted to cross the intersection straight ahead. Her two sons, aged five and eight, were also in the car.
There were eight people on the bus, but none were injured initially. The two drivers and the two children were taken to the UKH by ambulance with injuries of unknown nature.

The accident also caused serious damage to a traffic light. The scene of the accident was cordoned off over a large area by roadblocks in the area of Dinghoferstrasse, Blumauerstrasse and Friedhofstrasse. The area was closed to all traffic for about an hour.
