A young man from the Graz region launched a huge operation in Graz-Waltendorf on Sunday. The strange incident will probably cost the 24-year-old, who was drunk, dearly.
Shortly after 11:00 on Sunday, an alert passerby called 911: a man was standing on the roof of a four-story apartment building and was in danger of falling. He climbed over a balcony and jumped onto the roof.
16 members of the professional fire brigade of Graz, the Red Cross and an emergency doctor went to Waltendorf because the man did not respond to calls. He was eventually rescued safely by the fire brigade.
“Falling asleep while sunbathing”
The 24-year-old was very drunk, police said, and he only wanted to sunbathe and fell asleep. A report will be filed and a report will be submitted to the agency about the obligation to reimburse the costs of the operation.
