Two Eastern Europeans committed the same amount of theft in Lower Carinthia. A couple of police officers, who were actually off duty, caught the two in the act. The handcuffs clicked.
On their Saturday afternoon off, Susanne and Stefan Peterschinek were just out shopping when they suddenly noticed a foreign man in a Hofer branch on the Völkermarkt. “He walked out of the store unabashedly with several grinders,” says Stefan Peterschinek, who asked him to pay. An escape attempt by the man failed – he was arrested; and his accomplice who was waiting for him outside the car. The police couple immediately informed their colleagues.
Huge manhunt started
“Because it could not be ruled out whether other thieves were on the move, the police helicopter ‘Libelle’ was immediately searched,” said Bernhard Rettl, police officer at the Völkermarkt police station. However, this was restored after a short time. “The two thieves were traveling alone.” And they didn’t just commit a theft on a Hofermarkt. “They used to steal clothes from a sports store and also broke into a drugstore.”
The two men are shown. investigations are underway.
