The girl, who was rescued from the pool in the outdoor pool of Bad Hall-Pfarrkirchen on Monday, has already been transferred from the pediatric intensive care unit to the normal ward of the University Hospital Linz. Ayla, who comes from Germany, is out of danger. Now her family thanked rescuer Nefes (9) from Garsten.
The day after the dramatic rescue operation in the outdoor pool of Bad Hall-Pfarrkirchen, Nefes, the nine-year-old heroine from Garsten, can smile again. “Today I got chocolate milk ice cream as a present from an older swimmer who congratulated me on saving my life,” says the primary school pupil happily.
But she is even happier that 10-year-old Ayla from Germany, who was floating motionless in the water after an epileptic seizure, has already been transferred from the intensive care unit of the Kepler University Hospital Linz to the normal ward. “That makes me very happy,” says Nefes.
Danger recognized
If the nine-year-old had not been so attentive, Ayla would not be alive. As reported, Nefes noticed during the dive that the other child’s life was in imminent danger.
She immediately called her father, who lifted the motionless girl’s head out of the water and, together with the lifeguard, lifted her out of the pool. After her oral cavity was cleaned, Ayla began to breathe again and was flown to the hospital.
Valleyhe in the outdoor pool
The horror of what she had experienced was still written on Nefes’ face Monday night, but on Tuesday she went swimming with her father again. Ayla’s family has since thanked Nefes and her father for saving her life.
However, the 1.5-year-old boy who fell out of a window in Niederthalheim on Monday is still in intensive care.
