On Tuesday afternoon, two fire brigades had to go to Veldenbaai. For unknown reasons, a boat caught fire in front of the Schlosshotel Velden.
While countless holidaymakers stroll through the popular Carinthian tourist resort, clouds of smoke suddenly rise from the stern of a boat and the first flames briefly engulf the water scooter.
Boat towed into the middle of the lake
According to information from “Krone”, the boat was quickly removed from the jetty so that no other boats were endangered.
“The Velden and Augsdorf fire brigades were immediately alerted,” the state emergency and warning center said.
The fire on the boat was extinguished after a short time. The exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
