At the last minute, officials from Upper Carinthia were able to prevent an attack on the ex-girlfriend of a 52-year-old. The aggressive man even had pepper spray with him.
“Don’t get in my way, or I’ll beat you all up” – and the handcuffs clicked on the aggressive suspect on the street in Treffling in the Spittal an der Drau district. Two police patrols stopped the car and the 52-year-old because his ex-girlfriend had recently called the emergency number out of fear. Her former partner insulted her on the phone, threatened her with violence and announced that he would come to her immediately.
Pepper spray in pocket
And the 43-year-old’s fear was justified. In addition to the fact that the suspect loudly insulted and threatened the police officers and violently resisted when he was arrested, the 52-year-old was also armed: during the house search, the officers found pepper spray in his trouser pocket.
And this despite the fact that the judiciary had already imposed a weapons ban on the Carinthian. The irritant gas was confiscated, the suspect was taken to the police station and an entry and approach ban was issued against him.
