Police in Innsbruck are currently looking for witnesses to a near-traffic accident. Because a tram had to make an emergency stop on Saturday due to an unknown driver, a passenger fell and was injured. The woman (69) is in hospital.
The incident took place around 10 a.m. on Saturday at the intersection of Reichenauerstrasse and Andechsstrasse. The tram had to stop abruptly because of a white van, which resulted in an accident. The 69-year-old passenger fell to the ground and suffered injuries to her forehead and ribs. The rescue operation took the injured person to the clinic in Innsbruck.
Looking for witnesses
In the meantime, the police have started an investigation. The search is on for the previously unknown driver of the white van that stopped the tram. He did not stop, but drove away on Andechsstrasse in a southeasterly direction.
