“Drive Fast” – Charged Again With 200 Horsepower After Crash On The Road

Date:

In February, a fatal car accident took place on the B169 in the Tyrolean Zillertal. A 35-year-old Hungarian crashed head-on into oncoming traffic. Three were seriously injured. Now the suspect had to answer to the court. He now drives a 200 hp speedster again. “Only for speeding,” he said at the hearing.

During the trial at the regional court in Innsbruck, the 35-year-old admitted everything to try Helga Moser and pleaded fully guilty. A driver of another vehicle “could have been dead as well,” the prosecutor explains.

Devastating overtaking maneuver
On February 4 of this year, the suspect tried to overtake two other cars in the twilight in a tight bend at 120 km/h. He collided head-on with a car coming out of the valley and was thrown into the second car in front of him.

Three people were seriously injured in the other vehicles, including a 28-year-old and a young woman who suffered blunt abdominal trauma from a seat belt. According to her own statements, her bruises and pain disappeared after about a week, but the 28-year-old is still struggling with the consequences of the accident.

Victim was taken to hospital by helicopter
The young victim of the accident had to be freed by the fire brigade with rescue scissors, after first aid the emergency helicopter “Heli 4” flew him to the Innsbruck clinic. The 28-year-old suffered, among other things, an open femoral neck fracture, a urethra tear, a ruptured spleen, a tear to the head and a corneal injury.

Doctors had to screw his pelvis back together and he still has to wear a splint because of nerve damage in his left leg: without it, the front part of his foot just falls down as he sets his heel. Walking through steep terrain is no longer possible for the young man without sticks. At least he can work again. After the rehabilitation came physiotherapy, which he will probably have to do for a long time.

“Translate that for the suspect, so that he knows what he did to him,” the judge asked the Hungarian language interpreter. The 28-year-old was very lucky. As the prosecutor says, “He could have been dead.” Certainly a heavy blow to the parents who were present in the courtroom as spectators.

“Only for speeding”
The Hungarian floor-layer, who has been in Austria for five years, already has a new car: an Audi A7 with 200 hp. “Don’t you learn anything?” Judge Moser wants to know. When she asks why she likes these cars, he replies, “Just to drive fast.”

The court has sentenced the Hungarian to seven months in prison, which is conditional on him. He also has to pay a fine of 7,500 euros, 3,000 euros in damages for pain and suffering to the 28-year-old and more than 6,200 euros to the insurance company. The verdict is not yet legally binding.
